Concise Crystal Plex - Algaecide Treatment for Lakes and Ponds

Crystal Plex is a liquid pond algae control product that effectively controls most species of algae, including filamentous, chara, planktonic, and string algae. When treating excessive pond growth, it is crucial to treat half the pond at a time to avoid depleting the oxygen too quickly for the fish.

This product is safe for use with pets, wildlife, most fish, swimming, and irrigation, as long as the instructions on the label are followed. However, it is not meant for small decorative ponds and is toxic to Koi, Goldfish, and Trout.

To use Crystal Plex, simply mix and spray the algae. 13 oz of the product mixed with a couple of gallons of water will treat 1,000 square feet. It should be applied when the algae is actively growing, and the water temperature is above 60°F, typically from February to November.

Crystal Plex can be used for recreational purposes, as ponds treated with it can be used for swimming. It is also safe for pets, livestock, and wildlife to use the treated body of water. However, it should not be used with Goldfish, Koi, Trout, or Grass Carp due to their sensitivities.

The step-by-step pond maintenance process involves applying pond dye, pond bacteria, algaecide, submerged weed control, and emerged weed control. Crystal Plex is the algaecide used in this process, which is recommended for application from April to September for existing filamentous and planktonic algae control.
