Tsunami DQ is a product that controls many types of aquatic growth such as duckweed, water hyacinth, pondweeds and coontail. It is formulated for use with people, pets, wildlife, swimming, irrigation and potable water. Tsunami DQ controls floating weeds and helps keep weeds away, with best results when any repeat applications are within two weeks of the initial treatment.

When it comes to using Tsunami DQ, it is safe when used according to the label directions. However, when treating excessive pond growth, it is important to treat in sections to avoid rapid oxygen depletion. Tsunami DQ should be used every 14 days, treating only a 1/2 or 1/3 of the pond at a time to allow for oxygen recovery.

As a contact herbicide, Tsunami DQ is best applied by spraying directly over the growth you are treating. The recommended usage is 2-8 quarts per surface acre, depending on the infestation and type of weed. The best time to treat pond weeds is when they are actively growing, and the water temperature is above 60°F.

To maintain a healthy pond, we recommend a step-by-step approach:

1. POND DYE: Apply February-November to enhance the color of your pond or lake all year long.
2. POND BACTERIA: Apply February-November for early season treatment to safely and effectively break down muck and dead vegetation.
3. ALGAECIDE: Apply April-September for existing filamentous and planktonic algae control, killing algae and maintaining water quality. Products include Crystal Plex, Copper Sulfate, Bloom Buster, and Green X.
4. SUBMERGED WEED CONTROL: Apply April-September for weed control, using products like Tsunami DQ that kill submerged weeds resistant to copper sulfate.
5. EMERGED WEED CONTROL: Apply April-September for cattail control, using a diquat formula to kill surface and submerged weeds that are copper resistant.
